Wake AREA

Here you’ll find the most frequently asked questions (and helpful answers) about the Wake AREA, AREA 47’s modern wakeboarding facility and the only one of its kind in western Austria.

What is included in the day ticket?

The day ticket includes access to the Wake AREA for one full day. Additional equipment such as wakeboards and neoprene gear can be rented on-site if required.

Is the day ticket suitable for beginners?

Yes. Beginners also benefit from the day ticket, as it allows them to learn at their own pace and take breaks between sessions whenever they like.

What are the advantages of the day ticket?

With the day ticket, you can use the Wake AREA throughout the entire opening day and spread your riding sessions flexibly across the day.

Who is the day ticket suitable for?

The day ticket is ideal for wakeboarders who want to spend a full day at the cable and make the most of their time in the Wake AREA.

What is included in the 2-hour ticket?

The ticket includes access to the Wake AREA for two hours. Wakeboards and additional equipment can be rented on-site if required.

Is 2 hours enough for wakeboarding?

For many guests, two hours is enough time to complete several laps, practise new tricks, or gain their first experience on the cable.

Can I wakeboard as a beginner with the 2-hour ticket?

Yes. Between 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm, the cable runs at a reduced speed, providing ideal conditions for beginners and first-time wakeboarders.

Who is the 2-hour ticket suitable for?

The 2-hour ticket is ideal for beginners, experienced riders, and anyone who wants to enjoy a short wakeboarding session or try the Wake AREA for the first time.

Are the Water AREA and Wake AREA open in the rain?

Water fun is always on! All attractions in the Water AREA and Wake AREA are open during summer, even in the rain (except in case of thunderstorms).

Do I have to book my ticket for the Wake AREA in advance?

Since we have limited capacity, we recommend booking your Wake AREA ticket online in advance. If there are still spots available, you can also purchase a ticket spontaneously on-site at the Wake AREA shop.

Courses and camps, such as the Wake School Basic, must be booked in advance.

Can the number of participants be increased or decreased at short notice?

In the case of a last-minute cancellation, we must adhere to our terms and conditions, and therefore cancellation fees will apply. However, if there are still enough available spots, adding participants is definitely possible.

Can I try wakeboarding without any prior experience?

Absolutely. For your first attempts, we recommend booking the Wake School Basic, which includes coaching from our guides. Alternatively, you can book a 2-hour ticket between 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm, when the cable runs at a slower speed and provides ideal conditions for beginners.

We recommend starting on a kneeboard before progressing to waterskis or a wakeboard. You’ll also find an instructional video on-site with helpful tips on getting started, riding technique, and improving your skills.

Is the Wake AREA open in bad weather?

Yes, our activities run in all weather conditions, except when safety is at risk (for example, during thunderstorms or extreme weather). In such cases, the Wake AREA will be evacuated. Otherwise, the Wake AREA remains open even in the rain—after all, you’ll be getting wet anyway!

Is coaching included with the tickets?

There is no coaching included during regular operating hours. However, a safety briefing is provided to help you understand proper conduct at the wakeboard lift, and beginners receive a quick introduction to using the kneeboard. You can also watch a training video at the Wake AREA, which offers useful tips on starting with the kneeboard, waterski, and wakeboard.

Can I pause my 2-hour ticket or share it with another person?

No. Your ticket time starts from the moment it is first scanned. The ticket is valid for one person only and cannot be paused or shared with others.
