With a difficulty level of 4+, this rafting tour in the Ötztal is one of the hardest in all of Austria. With our certified guides and safety kayakers, advanced rafters can master the steep Ötzschwälle safely after a perfect introduction!

Tour information

Meeting Point & Tour Schedule
  • Meeting point is the AREA 47 Outdoor Base – please arrive at least 15 minutes before the tour starts
  • After check-in, you’ll receive a detailed safety briefing
  • We’ll then equip you with the complete rafting gear
  • On a calm section of the Inn River (start in the AREA 47), you’ll learn the most important paddling commands and safety techniques
  • Afterwards, the shuttle takes you directly to the entry point of the Ötztaler Ache
  • The final section brings you straight back to AREA 47
  • Plan around 3 hours for the full experience including check-in, gearing up, safety briefing and the tour

You are always accompanied on the river; all our tours are exclusively guided by certified professionals.

Equipment & Packing List
  • Swimwear and towel

All equipment such as a wetsuit, shoes, helmet, and life jacket is provided. On-site, you’ll find changing rooms, lockers, and showers.

Requirements & Weather
  • Rafting experience & excellent swimming skills
  • Good physical condition
  • Minimum age: 16 years | Maximum weight: 130 kg

The tour takes place in all weather. For unsafe conditions, a replacement date will be offered.
